Poo2Plate was officially opened by Costa Georgiardis from ABC’s Gardening Australia in December 2013.
The garden was constructed by Work For The Dole volunteers as well as Robbie Collins and other volunteers who dropped by to see what was happening. The garden consists of 6 vegetable beds, an orchard and a nursery where we propagate local plants and sell. Vegetables from the garden are used to make sauce and relish as well as community lunches every Wednesday at the House.
The garden is available to all community members 7 days per week and has a full watering system installed to minimise volunteers hours spent on watering during the hot summer months.
Funding for the construction of this amazing garden, the watering system and shade sails was provided by Loddon Shire Council and FRRR.
