Wedderburn Easter Market 2018

The first market for the year at Jacka Park (Soldiers memorial Park) saw many new stall holders, with two of the most novel being Jude Hannah’s Red Dog Chillies and miniature piglets.

There were in fact many new stall holders ranging from garden art to horse saddles, as well as our old favourites. Amongst our regulars we had Mick and Liza selling their delicious donuts to raise money for Wedderburn College. They sold a staggering 120 donuts to raise $200 for the school. That would have been a very early start for our bakers as everything they sell is fresh. What a wonderful community gesture. Next they will be donating their donuts for the Redbacks Auction on the 15th April. Make sure you buy some to support the redbacks.

The cutest stall on the day had to be these miniature piglets that are trained to walk on leads and sit when commanded. Has been breeding the miniatures to sell as pet and assures me they won’t grow any bigger than 60cm in height.

Two oinkers going for a walk.. and a sit.

Almost as cute was Jude Hannah’s stall selling all things chilli, with her new company Red Dog Chillies. Jude was also selling some of her home grown veggies including pink watermelons. Yum.

The market also had numerous bric-a-brac stalls selling clothes, jewellery, household items as people who could not be a part of the garage sales decided to have a stall instead.

There was a slight panic when  Artisan Bread van didn’t arrive till late. They had a breakdown and had to await another van. Not wanting to let their loyal customers down, they still arrived before the end of the market and sold out as usual.

I can’t wait for the Easter Market where we will have Bendigo band Wild Nation performing, a busking competition and a Vintage Fashion Show & Auction. Should be a great morning of entertainment. Hope to see you all there.
