2013 is already moving along and we have many things to report. Two new staff members in Lyn Duffield, Finance Officer and Jude Raftis, Co-ordinator. We also have two new volunteers in Bev Elstob and Bev Robinson who have both fitted in tremendously with the wonderful workers at the Wedderburn Community House. We have held our first Course for the year with Diane Henderson, Training Officer, conducting a Basic Computer Course at the Hub on Monday mornings from 9.30 – 12.30pm. All participants are having a ball learning new or refreshing old skills. Stephen Colbert ran Certificate 2 First Aid/Kids First Aid on 26/2/13 and this was also extremely successful with both young and older participants gaining valuable knowledge.
Chris Chalmers has had 16 keen artists attend her Mosaic Workshops held on 23rd and 24th Feb and 2nd and 3rd March. All greatly enjoyed the experience and Chris will be conducting an advanced workshop later in the year so watch our Newsletter for dates etc. Remember this is your House and if there is a course you would like to do PLEASE let us know. We have some very exciting Courses in the pipeline for Term 2 so keep an eye out for our next program which will be published on the website.
This year will also be exciting as the new build is scheduled to commence in June – much packing and relocating will be on the agenda. The architects have put a lot of attention to detail in maintaining the authenticity of the beautiful old school building and I am sure Wedderburn will be extremely proud of its refurbished Wedderburn Community House.
