Plans are well under way for our Community Garden – this is an exciting venture as we hope to encourage both young and older residents to participate.
There are many young people in our community who don’t have an older person to relate to and share experiences. Older people can pass on valuable knowledge and support. Something that many of our youth lack and could well be the very thing needed to help build their self esteem.
Much fundraising is going to be needed to get this project off the ground, but the end result will be beneficial to all those involved.
A mentoring program will result as well as produce for our Community Lunches (held every Wednesday) and fresh vegetables for the disadvantaged in our Community.
